Evening Sakura's Quartet

Lol I finally finished Yozakura Quartet.

And I hope I'm not the only one who went "KICHIKU MEGANE! O_O" at the moment Enjin/Gin's glasses broke when Akina was "Tuning" him. Really. The glasses broke and Gin's temporarily back for a short period.

If so, why didn't they just remove the glasses from the start? 8D
*gets punched*
ouch..

Overall, the series was nice. I started watching earlier last year because I really liked the character designs, Ao and Hime in particular. I'm amazed at how Hime manages to keep her scarf on despite hot weathers. Recently got into a scarf craze and it was fucking burning in there. As to why I've only completed it a mere ten minutes ago is simply because I was lazy to find sources on my own and thus got a friend to do it for me a month ago. The OP's awesome, seriously. Both the song and video's cool ("GinAo!!" *gets punched*). A lil something more different than usual. And the best part about Yozakura Quartet? It managed to be awesome without strong winds and flipping skirts which reveal strawberry panties. There was no boob groping or random stripping too. All this crap started because of Kanokon. Yes, I absolutely hate that series. Stupid shota boy. Stupid shotacon fox. Stupid loli wolf. Stupid various naked stripping people. Stupid everything.

The creator of Yozakura Quartet is none other than Yasuda Suzuhito, the person behind the original character designs for DuRaRaRa!! She also drew the original character designs for Kamisama Kazoku, another series about God's family. I don't mean Jesus though.

DRRR!! is written by Narita Ryougo, the awesomeness who created Baccano!. He also penned Vamp!, Etsusa Oohashi Series and Hariyama-san Series. I don't know about his other series but the anime adaption of both Baccano! and DRRR!! clearly screams that he's one hell of a writer. Batshit insane characters! And interweaving the plots, really! At first, everything seems soo detached, you'll start wondering "Why the hell are there so many people in the OP?" but then soon realize that they're all connected. For Baccano!, they transcend time (1705-200x). For DRRR!!... There's a Dullahan searching for her lost head. People here do not have any immortal elixirs so it's on a fixed time period. In fact, they're in Ikebukuro, throwing vending machines around, selling Russian sushi, setting up gangs, trolling chatrooms, and a lot more other things. But that doesn't mean that the people from Baccano! aren't crazy too. Things are a lot more bloodier there. The most obvious example? Rail Tracer.

So, back to Yozakura (after drifting off for a loooooong period).

The story revolves around four teenagers; Akina, Hime, Ao, and Kotoha; each of them having their own unique abilities. They run an office called Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, where their job is to help and protect the townspeople of Sakurashin, a town where humans and youkai co-exist with one another. The town is protected by a barrier created by the spiritual sakura known as The Seven Pillars. The Seven Pillars exist in both the human world and the youkai world and is the only thing that keeps both worlds connected to each other. However, recent bizarre incidents have occurred in their town and someone has threatened the safety of their town. It is up to the four of them to protect the town they love. [Wikipedia]

Ao has a brother, Akina and Hime, a best friend. Sadly, the person in reference, Gin has been taken over by an "ebiiil" youkai named Enjin. He's bitter and wants to destroy the town, as in make it a place for youkai and only youkai. That's right, a bad boy. Just that he isn't a boy but it'll sound creepy to call him a "bad man", right? And he wears a... Megane. [Kichiku Megane! Kichiku da!]

Basically, you might hate Akina for being an ass for not "tuning" Enjin years ago but it just shows how close he and Gin were in the past... He seems pretty much laid back throughout the show though... And Hime... Pushing herself too hard. As for the rest, go watch the anime yourself.

Also, on the side note, Ono Daisuke's voiced both Kishi Kyousuke and Heiwajima Shizuo. What do these two men have in common? Super strength and glasses. Just that Shizuo's are sunglasses.

And men with fur coats.... They're definitely dangerous. Take Enjin and Orihara Izaya. 'Nuff said.

It's a good show, really. It has pretty cool OST too. The animation quality's also quite a pleasure to view.
