Fandom?

Hm it's really true that you can learn more about a series just through fandom. Such had been true for me in cases such as Gintama, Hetalia!, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Sengoku BASARA, Assassin's Creed, Prototype, Persona 4, Blazblue and so on. I don't mean the fanart that ship couples though but they do tell a lot about the character rather than the story's plot or anything. But then again, character relations (Not fanmade couples) tell a lot about the story.
By understanding what kind of relationship they have, you can roughly tell how the story progresses. Or, it might even pique your interest enough to start a little bit of research on the series. Now, it's always the best to just watch or play the real thing itself instead of snooping around for info but there are always things that are difficult to obtain. Either that or you fall in the second category - "I'm lazy to play/watch the entire thing!". I admit I fall into the second category a lot.

DuRaRaRa! has received a mountain load of fanart from the day it first aired. Well, most of it were Shizuo/Izaya, not that I minded, because it really depicts their love/hate or hate/hate relations. In the beginning, I never knew that Shizuo threw "stuff" around, made use of traffic signs or the fact that he was somewhat involved in experiments. Why? Because all that ever ran in my head was "FFFFFFF!! HOT BARTENDERRRRRR!! YES YES YES!" Because he just seemed so... normal, if you ignore the things he does. He still has a normal personality, still human. Izaya well... He's just creepy. I do expect an image of Izaya going "ZETSUBOU SHITAAAA" Mr. Itoshiki Nozomu style. They have the same seiyuu, you see. Also, I've been spotting fanart where Mikado's among the two. I'm curious but I'm just going to wait. Also, Anri seems to personally know Shizuo when she was younger. It's all I know based on fanart.

Putting aside the characters, the plot's getting deeper and deeper every episode. Never expected Kida Masaomi to be involved in anything dark. Never thought he would be bold enough to question the gangsters. How does he personally know Orihara Izaya? Who's that girl in the hospital? And the list of questions goes on...
