InuBokuSS -review?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF MIKETSUKAMI WAI U SHO LOVEY-DOVEYISHLY PURE!? MAI FUJOU HEART CAN'T ACCEPT TIS OVERLOAD! DO NOT PURIFY TIS CONTAMINATED HEART WITH YOUR PURITY, MIKETSUKAMI! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

And so, Episode 12 marks the end of za romantic Inu x Boku SS. I love that show, but for all the.. probably not so right reasons. I wouldn't compliment the plot but I really like how the relations between characters. I can say that I wasn't in the least bit surprised to find out that it wasn't Kagerou that wrote the letters but Miketsukami. Like Ririchiyo said, there's no way Kagerou could've written those letters given his personality. But then again, the same can be said for Ririchiyo due to her absolutely sharp tongue. Perhaps those that were caught in the apparent 'love triangle' were actually all honestly good natured people but due to their surroundings, they've all become... superficially distorted? It might've become their very own defense mechanism. What's with uber rich people and their quirks? Seriously, Japan !!

No, not actually Japan. Concerning the mangaka, Fujiwara Cocoa, I've read one of her works before many years back "Watashi no Ookami-san", the prequel to "Dear". Shame on myself for being unable to identify her OTL Or even failing to realize that Ookami-san had a sequel! Back to InuBoku, rather than the male lead being a little snarky at times, and the girl a completely vulnerable innocent child, there were still similarities.

Add: And ooh! I DID read sensei's Oujo-sama to Youkai Shitsuji! FFFFFFFFF DID THIS WOMAN SPUR MY INTEREST IN BUTLERS OR SOMETHING!?  Yes, it wasn't Kuroshitsuji that really sparked my interest. I'll tell you what sparked my interest in Kuroshitsuji:

THIS

Between Ookami's Komomo and InuBoku's Ririchiyo, they may seem  different on the outside. Komomo is poor, yet owns a really big heart (am i using the correct term here?). A kind sweet girl with a sense of righteousness. She interacts rather easily with people too, given her nature. Ririchiyo on the other hand is a rich girl, a REALLY rich girl. She may have once been a fairly friendly girl but due to her status as a daughter from a rather prestigious family, she was often bullied and was only approached solely for her family name. On the inside, both are somewhat equally gullible and nice. I'd like to call Ririchiyo a tsundere but she's not doing it on purpose, more to like, she wishes to change, hence the storyline for InuBoku. Both Komomo and Ririchiyo totally lean onto the cute side regardless of whether they're aware of it or not. Both heroines suffer from somewhat parental abandonment but for Komomo, her mum passed away. As for Ririchiyo, she was kept away from her family who were 'normal' human in comparison to her.

Between Miketsukami and the Ookami's Maou, both.. harbor obsessions towards the female lead, openly throwing their love at them. They bend to the heroine's will, acting as her servant/secret service/butler...

Miketsukami: Ririchiyo-sama... I'll do anything for you *sparkleSPARKLEsparkleSPARKLEsparkle*
Subaru:  Of course, I'll do anything for the sake of Komomo! *smilesmilesmilesmile*

Heroines WILL then, by law of shoujo manga, fall in love with them eventually.

Both men have their fairly dark sides which they do conceal. You know, typical total estrogen bait- tall, dark and sexy mysterious men BECAUSE THEY ARE HOT. Maou- lycanthrope hand, Miketsukami- the very VERY scandalous past. Oh you Stupid Sexy Soushi.  However, Maou-sama Subaru here is much more whimsical and holds more authority than Miketsukami. Both are somewhat "dead" before coming into contact with the female lead. The heroines are what drives them on from their otherwise bleak days.....
...

But enough with comparisons, back to InuBoku's anime adapted by David Production.

It was an entertaining ride overall, and I'd seriously recommend this show to anyone looking for something rather lighthearted and easy. It doesn't pile technobabble onto the viewer and is rather direct. It's not the most refreshing series by far due to it's overly used plot in shoujo manga but I will not criticize it. What matters the most is the execution of the plot. The characters were fairly interesting but they still seemed rather unreal. The show centered around Ririchiyo, and mostly only her. Even Miketsukami himself does not obtain that much airtime but when he does, ohhh man he steals hearts the mysterious nature of his maintained interests. But still, it really didn't strike me as a surprise when it was discovered that HE was the one who was responding to the letters all along. You darn pedo! Kagerou may have been her fiance but he didn't seem to care for her as deeply as Miketsukami. Perhaps he did, as he did apologize to her for lying to her all along and had not expected both Ririchiyo and Miketsukami to form such a close bond after all. I personally feel that there will be people who can relate to Ririchiyo, be it whether they're filthy rich or not but not so much Miketsukami. Some probably might, in the sense that they change from a womanizer to a totally awesomely sexy secret service agent to a loyal devoted person for the one they love. Also, the self restraint displayed by Miketsukami who constantly tells himself to know his place and so on when it comes to his affections for Ririchiyo. The difference of social class? No, not at all. They're probably on similar social standings, just that the absolutely oh so hot alpha male Miketsukami has certain issues of his own. Guess who started smirking when he told Ririchiyo that he wanted to have children with her someday. Young man, hold your horses. SHE'S STILL UNDERAGE! It felt like his true nature, not the womanizing one he had on as a mask, had surfaced. A nice family man!

Oh Fujiwara-sensei, you make me delusional about men :3 ...

The rest of the characters were rather lovable, but not as developed as Ririchiyo and Miketsukami. Yes I LOVE typing Miketsukami. Karuta and Tanuki-kun (teehee!) were seriously cute. They're a pretty cute pairing. Silence, haters! Actually, almost everyone can be paired in the show, that's the part I pretty much like but unfortunately, it's also rather unrealistic. But then again, who says shoujo genre HAs to be realistic? The magic within them is that it DOESN'T happen /is a rare case in reality and that leaves space for girls to dream. Because seriously, where the fuck are you going to find a complete replica of Miketsukami Soushi. No, I don't mean cosplaying him either orz (though if you do, please post it!)

Awful post is awful. I can't even remember what was my point supposed to be
